Fate's housing stock is young. Most of the subdivisions here went up around 2013, which means almost every garage in town has a builder-grade steel sectional door riding on torsion springs sized for a lighter panel, not the heavier wood or fiberglass doors you'd find in an older part of the region. Builders spec the same opener models and the same light-duty rollers across whole phases of a development, so when one fails, you'll often see the identical failure two doors down within a year.
The climate here runs mild with the occasional freeze, which doesn't crack panels the way a hard winter would, but it does stiffen factory grease on cables and rollers during the few cold snaps each year, and that stiffness is usually what turns a quiet door into a grinding one. Because so much of Fate's housing came in during the same short building window, a lot of these doors are now hitting the same wear points - nylon rollers, plastic idler bearings, lift cables - at roughly the same age, all around the same time.
None of that means the hardware is bad. It means it's uniform, and uniform hardware fails in predictable batches.
